FEREN OS is here to outwit Windows and macOS


Feren OS a project by feren that wants to make Linux familiar to everyone, is a well crafted and well-stocked Linux distro that has the capability to replace Microsoft Windows and macOS

Whether it's a Windows user, a Mac user or a new user of a PC, feren OS offers the Cinnamon DE in a more customizable and user-friendly way than ever before, and thanks to it's solid Linux foundations, your sure to have a great experience with your PC. It's also engineered to take full advantage of all of your drivers' capabilities.

Feren OS 2017.0 'Murdock' was released a few days back and is said to be based on Linux Mint's main edition. Though Feren came into existence in late 2015, but believe me you will not feel it to be a newbie. 


> What it has to offer in comparison to others?

1. One click install: It is an easy to install configuration, which makes this OS to be installed on a single mouse click. It has a colorful, efficient to use specialized software repository. 

2. Customizable look and feel: On feren OS, once you choose a theme in Themer, everything is where you usually found it on your old Operating System. Your files are in 'Files'.

3. No Ads: Unlike Windows 10, we have NO ads invading the UI/UX of the OS at all. In fact, in the default browser known as Vivaldi, we have AdBlock Plus installed by default to help protect your privacy as well as completely protecting your system as well.

4. Secure: feren OS is a GNU/Linux Distribution. The same type of OS that runs on systems of places like the U.S. Department of Defense, the Bank Of China and more

5. Open source: feren OS is an open-source Linux Distro (or at least it will be soon) with it's own page for the Source Code and that page can be found here

6. An array of applications: feren OS comes with a hand selection of applications that are available by default in theOS, as well as access to thousands of other available applications thanks to the Ubuntu Repository.

Your favorite apps are most likely available on Linux, or if they aren't but are on Windows, you could use WINE to install them and reuse them again without a Windows Product Key needed and also the way the computer looks and feels is almost like how you are used to having it. Also, in fact, you can also update your system and apps automatically.

7. Gaming support: feren OS includes Steam for Linux, with support for all the games you'd ever want to play, and if you find that any games you may have aren't supported on Steam, you can use PlayOnLinux to run the Windows Version of Steam and play your favourite Windows Games from there that you've already brought. You'll also find some more games in Software too.

It is a heavy 3.6 GB iso file which needs substantial resources to be installed. 20 GB of empty hard disk space is required. 

A 4GB ram would not suffice for it's for flawless performance, but everything good comes with a price and feren is no exception, but it is worth it.
